KARACHI: Unilever Pakistan has unveiled its ‘Sustainability Accelerated’ strategy, signalling a renewed commitment to sustainability by accelerating its efforts in climate action, plastic circularity, nature regeneration, and enhancing livelihoods.
The initiative marks Unilever’s continued focus on integrating responsible environmental and social practices into its business growth in Pakistan.The launch event, held at Unilever Pakistan’s Head Office, brought together key stakeholders, government officials, and industry leaders to discuss the company’s forward-looking sustainability goals. Unilever Pakistan’s CEO Amir Paracha talked about the strategic importance of this new phase, which aligns business growth with sustainable practices.
He said that the initiative is focused on transforming Unilever’s business to reduce environmental impacts, empower people through better livelihoods, and support a more circular economy.
During the event, Unilever unveiled its climate transition action plan, outlining key steps to reduce its carbon footprint and shift to more sustainable practices. The plan includes commitments to reduce waste, implement sustainable sourcing, and support regenerative agricultural practices.
Karachi Mayor Barrister Murtaza Wahab, delivering the keynote address, endorsed Unilever’s initiative, emphasising the importance of prioritising sustainability in Pakistan’s rapidly growing urban landscape.
The event concluded with a call to action for partnerships between corporations, government and communities to collectively advance Pakistan’s sustainability agenda. Participants discussed strategies for achieving a more sustainable and equitable future, highlighting that combined efforts are key to addressing the nation’s environmental and social challenges.
