Federal secretary asks cash-strapped Fuuast to postpone convocation
The Federal Urdu University of Science and Technology has been stopped from holding its convocation due to bad financial matters.
It is said that despite the financial crisis, the Federal Urdu University made a programme to hold the convocation on the 9th of this month and invited the federal secretary of education and professional training to participate; however, the federal secretary of education and professional training has written a letter to Vice Chancellor Professor Zabta Shanwari that he is not able to attend the convocation due to his busy schedule and pre-decided commitments. Furthermore, the current financial position of the university does not permit the university to hold the convocation. “You are therefore requested to postpone the convocation scheduled to be held on 09.11.2024.”
It should be noted that the financial affairs of the Federal Urdu University are very bad, salaries and pensions are delayed for several months, and house ceiling has been stopped due to which teachers and employees have protested and boycotted the classes for several days.
