Asad Qaiser slams Centre over rising terrorism
SWABI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and former speaker of National Assembly Asad Qaiser said on Saturday that the wrong policies of the federal government led to an increase in acts of terrorism in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
He was talking to reporters during his visit to the residence of Iqtidar Khan, who was recently martyred in the Swabi Police Station blast when the wall of a nearby mosque fell on him. He handed over a cheque for Rs1 million to the father of the martyred teenager and expressed sympathy with the bereaved family.
He said this war was not ours, adding that it was America’s war which had been going on in our land for the last 40 years.
Referring to the killing of a cadet in Lakki Marwat, he said that the war on terror was not ours but our leaders committed mistakes one after another.
“I have come to know that a few days ago PTM workers were beaten and tortured in Swabi, which I condemn. I would like to say that staging a protest is the constitutional and legal right of every citizen, he said.
The former speaker said that the people should be allowed to take peaceful protests
He said that they respected the national flag and never acted against the interests of the country but they were being victimised.
