PU students display artworks on environmental issues
LAHORE:Punjab University College of Art & Design (CAD) organised an exhibition featuring a diverse array of works from more than 40 artists who explored the intersection of art and sustainability.
The show titled ‘Convergence’, synergy of art forms for sustainable ecology was a collateral event to Lahore Biennale 03. PU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Muhammad Ali, Vice Chancellor BZU Multan Prof Dr Muhammad Zubair, Principal College of Art and Design Dr Samina Nasim, faculty members, artists and students were present.
Talking to media, Prof Dr Muhammad Ali said that the exhibition was aimed at raising awareness about sustainability and environmental issues through innovative artistic expressions that merge various art forms, including painting, sculpture, installation, digital media and fiber art. He was of the view that we need to change our behaviour and adopt sustainable practices to preserve the environment. He said that we should move towards green energy. He said that the artworks serve not only as aesthetic experiences but also as critical commentaries on current ecological challenges.
UVAS holds Kashmir solidarity rally
The Character Building Society and Senior Tutor Office of the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) arranged a walk to express solidarity with the people of occupied Kashmir and also to condemn the illegal occupation and atrocities committed by the brutal Indian forces in occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
UVAS Dean Faculty of Veterinary Science Prof Dr Aneela Zameer Durrani led the walk in city campus while senior Tutor Prof Dr Yasin Tipu, other officials and a large number of students, faculty members and administrative staff participated in the walk.
