Punjab information minister says she respects journalists, her talk being portrayed negatively
A clip of Azma went viral on social and national media in which she can be seen warning journalists that she would complain to their organisations
LAHORE: A viral video clip of Punjab Information Minister Azma Bukhari's talk to journalists before the press conference of the chief minister on Wednesday has created a controversy.
A clip of Azma went viral on social and national media in which she can be seen warning journalists that she would complain to their organisations, which meant loss of job, if they created nuisance during the CM's presser.
However, later Azma shared the complete clip in which she first requested the journalists to maintain decorum during the CM press conference. In the end, she said if anyone created disturbance, she would lodge a complaint with their organizations, which meant they might lose their jobs.
However, after this controversy, Azma said on X that after the press conference, she went to a journalists housing society meeting and then found out that she had been accused of threats and insolence. She said prominent journalists also fell victim to the edited clip. She said she was just asking for discipline and silence with folded hands. She always respected journalists and her request was portrayed wrongly.
