3rd phase of crackdown on illegal SIMs from tomorrow
All the SIMs registered in the names of deceased persons will start blocking from October 16

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) will start the third phase of the operation against the illegal use of mobile phone SIMs from tomorrow.
All the SIMs registered in the names of deceased persons will start blocking from October 16. The SIMs registered in the names of deceased persons can be transferred under the proof of relationship. It should be noted that before 2017 SIMs issued on expired ID cards have already been deactivated while around 70,000 SIMs registered with canceled or fake ID cards have also been blocked.
