NOWSHERA: Chief Minister Pervez Khattak on Saturday said that changing the decade-old faulty system was inevitable for the development and prosperity.

Addressing a public meeting in Akbarpura here, he said the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI)-led Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government was making efforts to correct the faulty system.

He said the reforms introduced by the government in the departments were yielding results.

He urged the people to take responsibility and help the government to make the reforms effective and result-oriented.

Blaming the successive governments for the mess in the province, he said there was a shortage of teachers in the state-run schools while the students used to set on mats and the buildings were in a shambles.

He said the children of rich had all the facilities while that those of the poor were forced to study under the shade of trees.

He said his government was determined to provide standard education and equal opportunities to all the children.

Pervez Khattak said his government had not only put an end to corrupt practices in the province but also ensured good governance.

The chief minister said the government had ensured equal distribution of development funds among all the districts.

He said that the people were mature and could feel the change.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Pervez Khattak told the journalists form Lahore that his government had evolved an effective complaint redressal mechanism.

“The complaints of people went unheard in the past. Now there is growing realisation that the public services and social sectors are for the people and the public complaints are resolved through the complaint redressal mechanism,” the chief minister said.

According to an official handout, Pervez Khattak said this during his visit to Chief Minister’s Complaint Cell along with the Lahore-based journalists.

Chairman of the Complaint Cell Dilroz Khan briefed the chief minister and journalists about the functions of the cell.

The chief minister personally listened to different complaints on the occasion and ordered to settle them as soon as possible.

He said his government would never make compromises on the rights of the people. He said his government would support the people who had genuine complaints and their problems would be resolved through the effective complaint cell.

Pervez Khattak said that the voices of the people would not go unheard and advised the people to register their genuine complaints.
