All branches in Sindh start issuing international driving licences
All 11 driving licence branches in Sindh have started the service of issuing international driving licences. Earlier, the same service was only available at the Diving Licence branch in Clifton, Karachi. This service is also now available online to natives of Sindh who possess a valid driving licence.
According to DIG for Training and Licensing Iqbal Dara, the service to issue international driving licenses has been launched online and from 11 driving licence branches in Sindh.
The issuance of international driving permits started on September 14 from six driving licence branches in Karachi and the branches in the divisional cities of Hyderabad, Nawabshah, Mirpurkhas, Sukkur, and Larkana.
With the launching of the new service in Sindh, till Thursday most international driving permits, that is 693, were issued from the Driving Licence branch in Clifton. The Hyderabad branch issued 52, Korangi branch 23, one each from Malir and Saeedabad branches, and Nazimabad 104, while 65 international driving permits were issued from PFC South.
So far, two applicants obtained the same permits through the online option. He said the online facility for issuing international driving permits is available for all the natives of Sindh who possess a valid driving licence as they could get the same facility without visiting any driving licence branch. The TCS courier service will deliver the international driving permits to the online applicants.
DIG Iqbal Dara said that an online system is available for depositing Rs1,088 fee for the issuance of international driving permits.
