NAB hands Rs132.6m recovered money over to KP govt

PESHAWAR: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, on Friday handed over a cheque for Rs132.6 million, which were recovered from the corrupt, to the provincial Finance Department.
Director General NAB (KP) Shehzad Saleem handed over the cheque to the Additional Secretary, Finance Department, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Muhammad Asim Khattak at a ceremony held here, said a handout. The amount was recovered through plea bargain from the corrupt officers of various departments of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
NAB Director General Shehzad Saleem said that any country could not make progress without eliminating corruption. He said each and every member of the society should play a role to eliminate corruption and strengthen the institutions.
