ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has added another seat to its tally in the National Assembly, as the Election Commission of Pakistan issued a notification confirming the election of Samina Khalid Ghurki as an MNA on a reserved seat from Punjab.
“In pursuance of Article 51 of the Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, read with Section 104 of the Elections Act, 2017 (XXXIII of 2017), the Election Commission of Pakistan hereby publishes the name of the returned candidate for the seats reserved for women in the National Assembly of Pakistan from Punjab Province... Samina Khalid Ghurki,” the notification states. This addition brings the PPP’s total strength in the National Assembly to 70 members.
