KWSC finalises preparations for tomorrow’s celebrations
In line with the directives of the Karachi Water & Sewerage Corporation (KWSC) CEO Engr Syed Salahuddin Ahmed, the KWSC has completed all the water supply and sewerage arrangements across the city for Tuesday’s (tomorrow’s) Eid Miladun Nabi celebrations.
According to the KWSC spokesperson, the corporation is actively cooperating with the district administration, the elected representatives and all the relevant departments to ensure that the celebrations are held smoothly.
The KWSC has been in constant coordination with key religious leaders from organisations such as the Anjuman Ghulaman-e-Mustafa, the Pakistan Sunni Tehreek and the Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat.
As part of the preparations, all open manholes along the procession routes and near mosques have been covered with slabs and lids to prevent sewer overflow, Additionally, leaks on main roads and in public spaces have been fixed to ensure the procession routes remain clean.
In collaboration with the district authorities and the law enforcement agencies, water tankers are being provided along the procession routes and at mosques to meet the water requirements during the gatherings.
Despite the usual public holiday for Eid Miladun Nabi, the KWSC staff will remain on high alert. Teams equipped with suction and jetting machines will be deployed across the city to address any issues promptly.
The arrangements are being closely monitored by Water Chief Engineer Muhammad Ali Shaikh, Sewerage Chief Engineer Aftab Alam Chandio, Hydrants Cell Incharge Elahi Bux Bhutto and Hydrants Cell Focal Person Shehbaz Bashir.
Engr Ahmed said that making adequate arrangements for Eid Miladun Nabi is a great privilege.
He emphasised that no negligence would be tolerated, as providing the best facilities to the people is a top priority of the water corporation.
