Gas pipeline laying started in Tanawal

MANSEHRA: The federal government on Sunday started laying distribution pipelines to supply natural gas to Pulrah and its suburbs.

“We have started laying natural gas distribution lines in the Pulrah and its adjoining localities and work will soon be completed,” Sheikh Mohammad Shafee, the tehsil chairman, told reporters.

He said that former MNA (retired) Captain Mohammad Safdar from Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz and the son-in-law of former three-time prime minister Nawaz Sharif had announced the supply of natural gas to the Pulrah and rest of parts of Tanawal and the execution of that mega project was launched here.

“This mega project would not only meet the natural gas needs of locals but would also play a pivotal role in bringing timber smuggling and deforestation in Pulrah Tehsil to an end,” said Shafee.

The tehsil chairman said that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government couldn’t execute development projects in Tanawal and the rest of the province under the pretext of fund shortage.

“He said that PTI leaders had announced to initiate development projects worth over Rs 2 billion in Tanawal but couldn’t execute even a uplift scheme of Rs1 million so far,” Shafee said.

He said that the PTI government had also announced the establishment of Rescue 1122 station in Lassan Nawab to promptly deal with emergencies but to no avail.

Shafee said that PMLN leadership, particularly Mohammad Safdar, was working to launch mega development schemes in Pulrah and the rest of Tanawal to end people’s deprivations.

“The tehsil administration has also been working to launch water supply and other schemes in the Pulrah and Lassan Nawaz areas of Tanawal,” he said.
