Imran joins FIA cybercrime probe

RAWALPINDI: PTI founder Imran Khan has officially joined the Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA) cybercrime investigation, Adiala jail sources say.
The former prime minister was questioned on Saturday by a three-member FIA team in connection with a threatening post made from his X account. The interrogation took place inside the jail. The FIA team led by Deputy Director Ayaz Khan included officials Mohsin Afzal and Muhammad Anees. The questioning lasted for about an hour and the team put up written questions on the loading of Imran’s threatening post.
On Friday, the PTI leader had requested that the investigation take place in the presence of his legal team. Due to this condition, the FIA postponed the inquiry until Saturday. The officials engaged in the investigation told this correspondent that though it was a short investigation, but it would continue till its conclusion. “The subsequent course of action will be adopted in the light of Saturday’s investigation,” they said.
