Minister wants fruit orchard on more areas
PESHAWAR: Minister for Agriculture Muhammad Sajjad on Tuesday directed the officials topay special attention to the expansion of fruit orchards to more areas.
He said this during a visit to the Directorate General of Agriculture Research in Peshawar, said a handout.Director General Agriculture Research Dr. Abdul Rauf, and Senior Director Outreach Dr. Abdul Bari briefed the minister on the research activities, departmental affairs and responsibilities of the Directorate General of Agriculture Research.Various projects and their progress were reviewed and challenges faced in the implementation of research initiatives were underlined.
The minister issued instructions to increase the effectiveness of agriculture research.He said research activities should be intensified to provide the best seeds to the farmers so that their production could be increased.
The minister emphasized the importance of implementing research findings that would directly benefit farmers.He highlighted the important role of agricultural research in ensuring food security, emphasizing the need for continuous innovation and cooperation in this sector.
