LAHORE:On the directives of the Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC) has continued its cleanliness activities across the City here on Sunday.

Officials said so far, the LWMC teams of Nishtar Town and Iqbal Town made about 250 to 300 open plots waste-free and zero-waste was ensured. The cleanliness operations were done with the help of LWMC heavy machinery. The LWMC has also ensured placement of waste storage containers at open plots in the area of Gajjumatta. The CEO, LWMC Babar Sahib Din monitored the cleanliness operation.

Though the C&D waste lifting did not fall under the work jurisdiction of LWMC but yet the company provided assistance to LDA and ensured removal/lifting of C&D waste from the urban areas. During the recent cleanliness operations, large waste points have been made waste-free in the areas of Johar Town, Township, and nearby vicinities while LWMC teams also ensured removal of animal dung waste from the rural areas.
