ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan on Friday issued the victory notification of PMLN’s Zulfiqar Ahmad after a recount of votes in NA-79, Gujranwala.
Zulfiqar was declared successful in the recount, having secured 95,604 votes. Ihsanullah Virk got 92,581 votes. The PTI-backed independent candidate Ehsanullah Virk had been declared successful from NA-79 Gujranwala in the general elections. Separately, Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja met the Chairman of the Central Election Commission of Azerbaijan, Mazahir Panahov, at the Central Election Commission in Baku on Friday. Sikandar is visiting Azerbaijan on the special invitation of Mazahir to observe the parliamentary elections.
