Protesters in Bannu uproot gas supply pipeline to Punjab
BANNU: The protesters belonging to Uthmanzai tribe on Thursday uprooted the gas pipeline going to Punjab and vowed that they would not allow supply of the utility to other provinces.
“First, we have the right to our resources as per the Constitution. We will continue our protest sit-in until gas is supplied to the local residents and lasting peace restored in the area,” said one of the protesting elders.
The protesters, led by chief of North Waziristan Malik Nasrullah Khan, Malik Sanaullah Hamzoni, Malik Jan Faraz, Mufti Baitullah, Malik Akbar Khan, Malik Imshadullah, Malik Aurangzeb Khan and others, went with drumbeat in a large number, dug up the gas pipeline and uprooted it.The elders vowed that they would not become silent spectators anymore and would snatch their rights from the government at any cost.
