Prisoners feature in sports gala
LAHORE:A sports gala was organised at Camp Jail on the occasion of 77th Independence Day of the country on Wednesday. Punjab Minister for Youth Affairs Faisal Khokhar was the chief guest on this occasion. He also cut a cake along with prisoners.
A large number of prisoners participated in sack race, running, kabaddi, carom board and badminton competitions during the sports gala. Faisal Khokhar distributed prizes among the prominent performers of the event. Talking on this occasion, the provincial minister announced that all necessary sports gear will be provided to players in prisons besides appointing coaches of indoor games. “After Camp Jail, the gyms will be constructed in other jails of the province,” he added.
Women, children join event at Social Welfare Complex
A vibrant Independence Day celebration was held at the Social Welfare Complex here, attended by children, women, and the elderly from various institutions, including Chaman, Aafiyat, and Dar-ul-Aman.
The event was graced by the presence of Provincial Minister for Social Welfare and Bait-ul-Mal, Sohail Shaukat Butt, who was the chief guest, along with Director General Social Welfare, Amna Muneer. The event commenced with Sohail Shaukat Butt cutting a cake along with children, followed by the release of green and white balloons.
