Exploitation of Muslims in Kashmir condemned

Islamabad:An event was held on Monday at IMCG (PG), F-7/4, here, under the auspices of Federal Directorate of Education to express solidarity with Kashmiri Muslims.

The chief guest on the occasion was Tanveer Ahmad Sheikh, Director General, Federal Directorate of Education. The Principal of the college, Ayesha Kiyani, Vice Principal, Sara Kazmi, faculty members and a large number of students attended the event.

A welcome note was delivered by the principal, Ayesha Kiyani. She expressed great sorrow over the exploitation of Muslims in Kashmir. She said that Kashmiris’ faith in freedom is unbreakable .There will surely be a day when their sacrifices will bear fruit. A documentary was shown that shown presenting horrible condition of Kashmiris filled the hearts with grief.

On August 5, 2019, India revoked the special status of Jammu and Kashmir, leading to significant changes and tensions in the region. The aftermath of this move has seen widespread criticism and unrest. Speeches in English and Urdu languages were delivered by the students. Later Kashmir’s situation was presented in dramatic form by the students. Kashmiri anthem further expressed the feelings and provoked enthusiasm for getting Kashmir free from Indian brutality.

The chief guest, Tanveer Ahmad Sheikh, while addressing the audience, expressed his valuable thoughts over Kashmir issue. He condemned Indian savagery and said that Kashmir is our heart beat. We respect the decision of Kashmiri Muslims, we are with them and present their voices at every forum. He advised that education has the power to get Pakistan free ideologically and revive our status in the world. It is only then we can support Kashmir cause especially by the Pakistani Youth.

A quiz and bilingual essay writing competition was also held regarding Kashmir Exploitation Day. Certificates were distributed among the participants by the chief guest. A souvenir was presented to the chief guest by the principal. The ceremony concluded with the national anthem.
