SHO martyred in Karak encounter

KARAK: Station House Officer (SHO) Tariq Khan Orakzai of Yaqoob Khan police station, Takht Nusrati, was martyred on Monday during an encounter with drug peddlers in the Sarki Lawagher area.

Police sources said that the SHO sustained critical injuries during the raid on drug peddlers’ hideouts in the Sarki Lawagher area of the Karak district. He was rushed to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital in Takht Nusrati in a critical condition but the doctors pronounced him dead before any medical treatment could be administered.

The funeral prayer was offered at the Karak police station. His body was then sent to his native district, Hangu, where he would be laid to rest with state honours.
