Minister promises steps for livestock sector improvement
PESHAWAR: Provincial Minister for Livestock and Fisheries Fazal Hakim Khan Yousafzai has said the provincial government is taking steps for the improvement of the livestock sector.
He expressed these views on Tuesday while addressing a meeting held at the Livestock Department Peshawar, said a handout.
Director General Livestock Dr. Asal Khan, Director General Livestock Research Dr. Ijaz Ali, DG Fisheries Shafi Marwat and other relevant officers were present.
DG Livestock Extension briefed the minister about the ongoing projects of the department, especially the schemes included in the Annual Development Plan and the new projects including animal treatment programmes. The minister sought details of the government veterinary farms in the province, the number of animals and the facilities provided to the cattle rearers. Later,he inaugurated the tree plantation campaign by planting saplings on the premises of the Livestock Department.
