Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Tauheed Rehman of District Korangi has ordered the arrest of three policemen who were allegedly involved in committing brutality against a local hotel owner for asking them to pay up the bill for breakfast.

Officials said on Saturday that the SSP of District Korangi had taken notice of the police brutality and suspended three policemen. An inquiry has been initiated against the suspended policemen and they have been handed over to the SP of Shah Faisal.

The suspended cops were posted at the Korangi police station and were identified as Shakir, Mudassar and Waqas. The policemen have been made quarter guards till further orders.

Officials said that Ali Muhammad in his complaint stated that the police personnel assaulted hotel employees and they arrived daily for free food at Cafe Sultan at Korangi No. 2. Hotel employee Ali Mohammad stated that worried about inflation and economic conditions, he asked the policemen for paying up half the bill for breakfast. At this, the policemen started torturing him. The cops took him away after calling a mobile from the police station and the police registered a case against hotel employees for keeping cylinders.

Moreover, three hotel employees were also arrested in the case. The policemen also allegedly took away 18 chairs from the hotel and cash from the counter.

The SSP of District Korangi has took notice of such highhandedness by the cops and ordered a detailed inquiry into the allegations.
