Robbery at call centre in Rawalpindi
Rawalpindi: A call centre owned by a Chinese citizen was robbed in the Sadiqabad area of Rawalpindi, on Murree Road. Two masked robbers entered the call centre in Kiyani Plaza on Murree Road posing as FIA (Federal Investigation Agency) officers. They were armed, shut down the CCTV cameras, and stole the memory cards. The robbers made off with Rs70,000 in cash, 40 mobile phones, and laptops. They also took the car keys from the company’s Chinese owner as they fled.
The police and forensic teams arrived at the scene promptly after being informed of the incident. SP Rawalpindi Faisal Saleem mentioned that the suspects posed as FIA officers and, under the pretext of a security check, took the mobile phones and laptops. However, the affected company’s management is hesitant to proceed with police action. Faisal Saleem added that the FIA has been contacted to investigate the matter.
