PQA’s buoy tender launch ceremony held in Turkiye
The Port Qasim Authority’s under-construction buoy tender’s launching ceremony was conducted at Eregli Shipyard in Turkiye on June 29.
The Port Qasim Authority will add a new state of art buoy tender to its fleet soon after its trials. The 49km long channel consisting of navigational marks/ buoys requires a specialised vessel in role of buoy tender. It will be utilised for laying and maintenance of Nav-aids of channel to ensure safety of navigation for ships.
The keel-laying ceremony was carried out on 19th October, 2023. The construction of the new vessel is progressing on track. After necessary outfitting of machinery and equipment trials will be conducted. Subsequently, the vessel will be delivered at Port Qasim Authority by 12th September, 2024, said a press release issued by the PQA on Monday.
