Journalist murder: Witnesses name PPP MNA, two sons before court
Three persons threatened them that journalist Nasrallah would be killed because he did not stop reporting against them Nasrullah Gadani
KARACHI: Recording their statements before court, the witnesses in the murder case of slain journalist Nasrullah Gadani have named a local MNA of the Pakistan People’s Party and his two sons for masterminding the killing.
Both the eye-witnesses of the case Yaqoob Gadani brother of slain journalist and his cousin Salah Gadani recorded their statements under section 164 of Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) before the Second Civil Judge and Judicial Magistrate Mirpur Mathelo Muhammad Idress Jakhrani.The eye-witnesses stated before the Court that on April 11, 2024, the three persons threatened them that journalist Nasrallah would be killed because he did not stop reporting against them Nasrullah Gadani, a journalist from Mirpur Mathilo, died in a local hospital in Karachi on May 24, 2024, after being seriously injured in an armed attack on May 21, 2024, in Mirpur Mathelo a town of district Ghotki.
On June 8, 2024, Ghotki Police claimed to have made a breakthrough in the murder case of Nasrullah Gadani. Police claimed to arrest Asghar Loond, son of Hoat Loond, one of the three main suspects, and recovered the weapon as well as a motorcycle and three mobile phones used in the crime. Police have declared Asghar Loond’s brother Barkat and Abdullah absconders.
