109 LPG, CNG shops sealed in one week in Hyderabad
HYDERABAD: Following the deadly explosions at a CNG cylinder shop situated in a densely residential area of Preetabad in Hyderabad, the district administration sealed 109 LPG and CNG shops in four tehsils within a week.
Hyderabad Deputy Commissioner Zainul Abideen told The News that the drive against CNG cylinder ships illegally operating in residential areas would continue and 25 shops had been moved outside densely populated areas.
In his initial report on the deaths and injuries caused by explosions that took place in Preetabad on May 30, the DC stated that 26 people had so far died in incident, including 18 children with ages between two and 17 years.
A total of 15 injured are still being treated, reads the report. Of them, 11 are admitted to the Civil Hospital Hyderabad, two to the Civil Hospital Karachi, and two to the Patel Hospital Karachi. Six of these 15 patients are in a critical state.
