Two traffic cops suspended for ticketing MPA
PESHAWAR: Two traffic police officials have been suspended after they issued a traffic violation ticket to a member of the provincial assembly (MPA).
The incident, involving MPA Sher Ali, has sparked controversy and criticism among the police force.
It was learnt that ticketing officer Sohail Shah and constable Sana Ullah issued a ticket to MPA Sher Ali for a traffic violation. After the ticketing, the MPA reportedly approached senior officials, leading to the suspension of both Sohail Shah and Sana Ullah. An inquiry was also ordered against them.
The suspension of the officers has been met with criticism from their colleagues. Fellow traffic cops have expressed discontent, pointing out the inconsistency in directives; while they are encouraged to issue tickets for traffic violations, they face punitive measures for carrying out their duties when influential individuals are involved.
