The Dawood Foundation (TDF) on Thursday hosted the grand finale of the MagnifiScience Drama Competition, a collaborative effort between TDF and the US Consulate General Karachi.

A panel of five judges announced the winner after watching the live drama performances of students of top five schools of Sindh and Balochistan. A total of 53 schools had been registered for the competition, and 41 schools submitted drama scripts. These schools were provided with guidelines to perform and record their dramas, which were then evaluated by a jury panel. The second phase of the competition featured esteemed judges Rumana Husain and Uzma Sabeen, who evaluated all entries from Sindh and Balochistan.

Their expertise was utilised not only to select the top five entries for the final stage but also to provide constructive feedback to the students. Five exceptional finalists were: Khadija Kazi Ali Memorial High School, Karachi, United Charter School North Nazimabad, Karachi, Aga Khan School Garden Campus Karachi, The School of Scholars, Khuzdar, and Government Higher Secondary School Hussainabad, Khairpur Mirs. The grand finale of the event concluded at the TDF's MagnifiScience Centre with the announcement that the winning school would get a STEM lab built on their campus.

TDF Chief Executive Officer Fasihuddin Biyabani said they intended to inspire and nurture the next generation of scientific thinkers and environmental stewards,” he said. Anastasia Kolivas, cultural attache at the US Consulate General, said, “STEM fields drive innovation and creativity, which are essential for economic growth and addressing global challenges such as climate change, health issues and sustainable development. The US Consulate is proud to partner with TDF on this project.”
