LAHORE:With regard to reported death of 10 children due to measles in Kasur and Khanewal districts, an initial inquiry report suggested that five children died due to heatwave.
A medical team led by Prof Dr Farid al-Zafar, Principal Lahore General Hospital, went to Kasur and conducted a detailed check-up of children. The medical team gave awareness about prevention from measles and heatwave. Minister of Primary & Secondary Healthcare Department Khawaja Imran Nazir said the department will take action against any negligence on the part of health officials, which led to the death of children in Kasur and Khanewal.
"The cause of death of children in Kasur has been turned out to be heatwave, while the cause of the death of children in Khanewal will also be investigated," he added.
