Four drunk accused injure man, woman
LAHORE:Four drunk accused Wednesday opened indiscriminate fire and wounded a 29-year-old woman and a 46-year-old man in the Green Town locality.
Reportedly, the accused resorted to firing, leaving Asma and Pervaiz injured. Police have registered a case and arrested accused identified as Shehroze, Umraiz, Aman Ullah and Aziz, and recovered weapons from them.
Two arrested for carrying illegal arms
Raiwind Police arrested two suspects for carrying illegal weapons. The arrested suspects were identified as Muhammad Farooq and Ali Raza. Police recovered illegal riffle, pistol and bullets from their custody. They would display the firearms to harass the general public. A case was registered against them.
PO held from abroad
A man wanted in the murder of a transgender in Gujranwala has been arrested from Saudi Arabia. Punjab police and Interpol Islamabad conducted a joint operation and arrested the dangerous fugitive from Saudi Arabia and transferred him to Pakistan.
Accused Sufyan Ali killed transgender Usman alias Piya in Kamonki in 2020. After the incident, the accused went into hiding and fled abroad. Special Operation Cell of Punjab Police, Gujranwala issued Red Notice of the accused from Interpol. After the arrest, the accused was transferred to Pakistan in close coordination with the Saudi police. Total number of proclaimed offenders arrested from foreign countries this year has reached 40. IG Dr Usman Anwar appreciated the Gujranwala RPO and the police team for arresting the dangerous proclaimed offender.
Four wounded ‘robbers’ arrested
Four injured suspected robbers were arrested after police encounters in different areas of Lahore on Wednesday. In Baghbanpura, police signalled two suspected bikers near Mehmood Booti, but they opened fire at police. When the fire was retaliated, they were arrested in injured condition and one of them was identified as Ali and their accomplice, who fled the scene, was identified as Arshad alias Joker. Badami Bagh police tried to stop three bikers, but they opened fire at police. The police retaliated and arrested Ramazan and Shah Rukh in injured condition, while their accomplice fled the scene. Shafiqabad police arrested accused Bilal.
