ISLAMABAD: The government has suspended the services of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Engineering Development Board (EDB) Raza Abbas Shah with immediate effect.
According to the notification issued here Thursday and signed by Deputy Secretary of Industries and Production Division, Raza Abbas Shah is no longer EDB CEO as his services have been suspended with immediate effect.
However, the sources privy to the development said that some weeks back, Shah gave a presentation to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. “The presentation was not up to the mark and more importantly the premier raised some questions and he did not get satisfactory answers. This has irked the premier.”
The sources said that some players in the automobile industry also reportedly complained about Shah in meetings with the prime minister. However, this scribe sent the question to the suspended CEO of EDB, and also called him to take his version, but he did not respond.
