Heatwave persists

LAHORE: Heatwave continued to prevail in the City, though the mercury dropped slightly to 42.4°C here on Thursday while Met office warned that the heatwave conditions were likely to prevail over most parts of the country during the current week.
Thursday’s maximum temperature was recorded at Dadu, Mohen-jo-Daro and Jacobabad where mercury reached 50°C while in Lahore the minimum was 29°C. Met officials said continental air was prevailing over most parts of the country while a high pressure prevailing in the upper atmosphere and likely to persist during next few days.
