A suspect who assaulted a minor girl in Orangi Town eight days ago was arrested on Tuesday. The perpetrator turned out to be a resident of the victim’s neighborhood, and he had confessed to his crime, police said, adding that they had collected DNA samples for further investigations.
District West SSP Hafeez-ur-Rehman Bugti mentioned in a press conference that the suspect, Farhan, son of Noorul Amin, was arrested based on evidence gathered through human intelligence.
He stated that the suspect had confessed to his crime, and the victim had also identified him. Evidence collected from the crime scene based on the suspect’s indications was said to be crucial.
The suspect assaulted the seven-year-old girl on May 13, and the police had registered a case. The suspect had taken the girl to an empty plot in Khairabad and assaulted her within the Pakistan Bazaar police remits. Police said that the man would be handed over to the investigation wing for further interrogation.
