LAHORE:There is no relief for the consumers from escalating prices of vegetables and other edibles. Prices of edibles have been reduced but its benefit has not reached people due to violations of official rates.
The sellers have claimed that the official rate list is wrong and prices mentioned in the list are lower than that of markets. The price fixation mechanism is full of flaws and people are now used to it.
Any type of meat was not sold at official rates anywhere in the city. Reduction in poultry price continued in the rate lists only. But, likewise other perishable things, the poultry rate lists were not observed as well. The chicken meat sellers refused to sell at the official rates. This week price of chicken was further reduced by Rs19 per kg, fixed at Rs284-295 per kg, sold at Rs350-360 per kg, and chicken meat by Rs27 per kg, fixed Rs428 per kg, and sold Rs460-1000 per kg. The price of potato soft skin unchanged at Rs70-75 per kg, sold at Rs120 per kg, B-grade fixed at Rs60-65 per kg, and C-grade at Rs50-55 per kilogram, mixed sold at Rs80-100 per kg.
The price of onion A-grade further reduced by Rs10 per kg, fixed at Rs75–80 per kg, sold at Rs100-125 per kg, B-grade at Rs65-70 per kg, and C-grade fixed at Rs55-60 per kg, sold at mixed sold at Rs80 per kg. The price of tomato A-grade reduced by Rs30 per kg, fixed at Rs42-45 per kg, sold at Rs80-100 per kg, B-grade fixed at Rs35-38 per kg, and C-grade at Rs28-30 per kg, mixed sold at Rs50-60 per kg.
The price of garlic local was further reduced by Rs25 per kg, fixed at Rs225-235 per kg, sold at Rs300 per kg, and Garlic China fixed at Rs620-640 per kg, sold at Rs800-1000 per kg, Garlic Harnai reduced by Rs95 per kg, fixed at Rs360-375 per kg, sold at Rs500-600 kg. The price of Ginger Thai further reduced by Rs20 per kg, fixed at Rs530-550 per kg, and Ginger Chinese gained by Rs10 per kg, fixed at Rs525-545 per kg, both sold at Rs600-800 per kg. Cucumber Farm fixed at Rs40-42 per kg, sold at Rs60-80 per kg, and cucumber local reduced by Rs5 per kg, fixed at Rs57-60 per kg, sold at Rs100-120 kg. Brinjal price was reduced by Rs24 per kg, fixed Rs47-50 per kg, sold at Rs80-100 per kg. Biter gourd declined by Rs10 per kg, fixed at Rs62-65 per kg, sold at Rs80-120 per kg. The price Spinach farm reduced by Rs6 per kg, fixed at Rs30-32 at Rs60-80 per kg.
Zucchini local was further reduced by Rs15 per kg, fixed at Rs85-90 per kg, sold at Rs120-140 per kg, Zucchini farm by Rs10 per kg, fixed at Rs42-45 per kg, sold at Rs80-100 per kg, and Zucchini long by Rs10 per kg, fixed at Rs47-50 per kg, sold at Rs80-100 per kg. The lemon local reduced by Rs10 per kg, fixed at Rs555-575 per kg, sold at Rs800-1000 per kg.
Pumpkin was gained by Rs5 per kg, fixed at Rs62-65 per kg, sold at Rs100-120 per kg. Green chili price A-grade declined by Rs25 per kg, fixed at Rs90-95 per kg, sold at Rs160 per kg, B-grade fixed at Rs55-58 per kg, sold at Rs120 per kg. Capsicum price was gained by Rs30 per kg, fixed at Rs70-75 per kg, sold at Rs120-140 per kg.
Price of cauliflower was reduced by Rs25 per kg, fixed at Rs90-95 per kg, sold at Rs140-150 per kg, cabbage by Rs3 per kg, at Rs30-33 per kg, sold Rs80-100 per kg. Carrot Chinese unchanged at Rs47-50 per kg, sold at Rs160-200 per kg. Arum was further gained by Rs5 per kg, fixed at Rs235-245 per kg, sold at Rs400 per kg. Ladyfinger gained by Rs10 per kg, fixed at Rs175-180 per kg, sold at Rs220-260 per kg. Turnip was gained by Rs14 per kg, fixed at Rs40-43 per kg, sold at Rs120-140 per kg.
Fenugreek (Methi) reduced by Rs5 per kg, fixed at Rs120-125 per kg, sold at Rs300 per kg.
Pea price was reduced by Rs10 per kg, fixed at Rs190-200 per kg, sold at Rs400 per kg.
Beetroot was sold at Rs300-320 per kg.
Coriander was sold at Rs30 per bundle.
Radish was fixed at Rs18-20 per kg, sold at Rs100 per kg.
Sweet Pumpkin was unchanged at Rs28-30 per kg, sold at Rs80 per kg.
Mangoes unripe was fixed at Rs42-45 per kg, sold at Rs100 per kg.
The price of different variety of apples gained by Rs10 per kg, fixed at Rs58-300 per kg, sold at Rs200-500 per kg.
The price of Banana A-category gained by Rs10 per doze, fixed at Rs140-145 per dozen, sold at Rs250 per dozen, and B-category fixed at Rs90-95 per dozen, sold at Rs150-180 per dozen, and C-category fixed at Rs57-60 per dozen, sold at Rs130 per dozen.
Dates Irani unchanged at Rs430-450 per kg, sold at Rs800 to 1400 per kg.
Papaya further gained by Rs15 per kg, fixed at Rs170-175 per kg, sold at Rs220-260 per kg.
Guava was further gained by Rs35 per kg, fixed at Rs105-195 per kg, sold at Rs300-350 per kg.
Malta (stored) was further gained by Rs20 per dozen, fixed at Rs305-320 per dozen, sold at Rs800 per dozen.
Strawberry was further gained by Rs5 per kg, fixed at Rs70-125 per kg, sold at Rs160-200 per kg.
Melon was reduced by Rs10 per kg, fixed at Rs40-65 per kg, sold at Rs100-120 per kg, melon round fixed at Rs37-40 per kg, sold at Rs80 per kg.
Grapes tofi was reduced by Rs45 per kg, fixed at Rs295-310 per kg, sold at Rs400-450 per kg, Grapes Sunderkhani by Rs15 per kg, was fixed at Rs320-335 per kg, sold at Rs600-800 per kg.
Lokat local fixed at Rs145-150 per kg, fixed at Rs250-300 per kg, lokat farm was reduced by Rs10 per kg, fixed at Rs90-95 per kg, sold at Rs150-180 per kg.
Watermelon was further reduced by Rs5 per kg, fixed at Rs28-30 per kg, sold at Rs40-80 per kg.
Peach was fixed at Rs140-145 per kg, sold at Rs200-300 per kg.
Phalsa was further reduced by Rs30 per kg, fixed at Rs274-250 per kg, sold at Rs320-350 per kg.
Grama was gained by Rs5 per kg, fixed at Rs70-75 per kg, sold at Rs100-120 per kg,
Apricot yellow was reduced by Rs15 per kg, fixed at Rs130-135 per kg, sold at Rs200-250 per kg.
Mangoes of different variety was fixed at Rs120-160 per kg, sold at Rs200-350 per kg.
