7-year-old girl survives rape attempt

LAHORE : A seven-year-old girl survived a rape attempt in Nishter Colony.

The suspect being an acquaintance lured the victim and took her into a house. She cried for help upon which nearby people alerted the police which recovered the victim. They also arrested the suspect identified as Shahid and registered a case against him.

Fireworks material hurled at police van

The unidentified suspects hurled fireworks material at a police van in Defence C police limits. Reportedly, a police team was patrolling when the unidentified suspects riding a car hurled fireworks at it. The van hardly escaped a severe accident. The suspects afterwards fled from the scene. A case has been registered against them.

Inmate dies

An inmate died under suspicious circumstances in Camp Jail in Shadman.

The victim identified as Amir Maseeh was detained in a drugs peddling case. On the day of the incident, his condition deteriorated and he was shifted to a nearby hospital.

However, the victim could not survive. His body was moved to morgue. Police said that they were investigating the matter further.
