She was given a briefing on the revamping of the health centre. Approximately, 10,000 patients can avail treatment facilities at the Rural Health Centre in Phool Nagar every month.
Maryam visited different sections of the Rural Health Centre. Addressing the inaugural ceremony, she said: “We are introducing latest facilities in 300 Basic Rural Health Centres and 2,500 Basic Health Units. We will transform all hospitals of Punjab in a few months. We are overcoming the shortage of doctors and nurses and are providing cardiac treatment facilities.” She said as many as 200 Clinics-on-Wheels will provide treatment at people’s doorstep.
She said mega corruption was done during the purchase of wheat. “There is no wheat crisis in the province. We are introducing a Rs400 billion package for farmers. We will give Rs1.5 lakh each to farmers for the next crop. Such a mega package has never been introduced in the history of Punjab. A farmer will be provided with the latest agricultural machinery on soft terms. A road is being constructed at a cost of Rs2.5 billion in Phool Nagar and a technical college is also being established.”
