Govt believes in supremacy of law, says Amir Muqam
ALPURUI: Federal Minister for SAFRON and Kashmir & Gilgit-Baltistan Affairs Amir Muqam on Wednesday said that the government believed in the supremacy of law and independence of judiciary and the lawyers should cooperate with it to strengthen the judicial system in the country.
“You must support the government for its initiatives to strengthen judicial system in the country instead of supporting individuals,” he told the lawyers here. Earlier, the PMLN leader administered oaths to the office-bearers of District Bar Association Shangla and the tehsil Bar Association Matta, separately.
Amir Muqam said that the provincial government should work for the development of the province instead of adopting antagonist policies towards the federal government. “The people have elected you to work for their welfare and not for marching on Islamabad,” he said while apparently referring to Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur’s recent diatribe.
Amir Muqam said the PMLN government was committed to pulling the country out of economic and other crises.
“The economy is on the path to stabilization due to the government’s robust policies. Steps are also being taken to provide relief to the people,” he added.
The PMLN leader said that he had been playing all possible roles for the development of the Shangla district. “And the work on the expressway and other mega projects will start soon,” he went on to add. District Bar Association president Waqif Shah and others also spoke on the occasion.
