AKF organises training workshop
Islamabad : A two-day training workshop under aegis of Orphan Care Al-Khidmat Foundation (AKF) Pakistan.
Addressing the training workshop and later talking to media, the central secretary general of Al-Khidmat Foundation, Syed Waqas Jaffery said the workshop was organised to enhance capacity building of team of orphan care programme. He said that the Al-Khidmat Foundation is spending Rs2.5 billion annually to care of 28,000 orphan children.
He said that the foundation is functioning 22 Aghosh Homes on pattern of cadet colleges to provide quality education to orphan children. He said that the foundation through academic scholarship programme provide opportunities of education up to the university level. Director Orphan Care Programme, Air Marshal (r) Farooq Habib, Manager Muhammad Ali and Media Relations Officer, Inaanmul Haq Awan were also present on the occasion. Waqas Jaffery said a mechanism exists to keep track of performance of children getting education.
