Two killed in Tirah IED explosion
BARA: Two boys were killed and another sustained injuries when an improvised explosive device (IED) went off in the Maidan area of Tirah valley on Saturday, local and official sources said.
The victims, identified as Sajid Khan, Aamir Khan and Saleem Khan, were reportedly searching for mushrooms in a hilly area when they accidentally triggered the explosive device in the Durbikhel village of Bar Qambarkhel area in Khyber district’s Tirah valley. As a result, Sajid Khan died at the scene of the blast, while Aamir Khan and Saleem Khan sustained severe injuries and were rushed to a local hospital for initial treatment. Later they were shifted to Peshawar for further medical care due to their serious condition. However, Aamir Khan passed away at the hospital. The precise circumstances surrounding the placement of the explosive device remain under investigation by authorities.
