‘Swift revamping of hospitals continues’
LAHORE : Provincial Health Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique said that the revamping project in government hospitals is being completed on a fast track and there will be zero tolerance for corruption in teaching hospitals.
He shared these thoughts while speaking at the two-day training for MS in the Department of Specialised Healthcare and Medical Education on Saturday.
On this occasion, Secretary Health Punjab Ali Jan Khan, Special Secretaries Syed Wajid Ali Shah and Raja Mansoor Ahmed, DG Drugs Dr. Sohail, Additional Secretaries, Deputy Secretaries and MS from various teaching hospitals participated.
Provincial Health Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique while expressing his views during the MS training session said that all the MS of the teaching hospitals are welcome to the training session. MS gentlemen have been given a rare opportunity to serve the suffering of humanity. We are bringing reforms to improve the health system. MS people should work as our team for the service of humanity, he added. Khawaja Salman said that cleanliness should be ensured in government hospitals. A working MS can only be part of the health department. In the using health card politically in the past, a lot of harm was done to the people and the health card is now being made beneficial for the people. Secretary Health Ali Jan Khan said that the performance of teaching hospitals is being monitored regularly. Meanwhile, Provincial Health Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique met former Health Minister Prof Dr Javed Akram in the Department of Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education. On this occasion, Secretary Health Punjab Ali Jan Khan, Secretary Emergency Services Punjab Dr. Rizwan Naseer, DG Drugs Control Dr. Sohail, Additional Secretary Technical Dr. Hafiz Shahid Latif, Additional Secretary Procurement Mazhar Mehmood, Deputy Secretaries and Dr. Shehla Javed Akram were present.
Khawaja Salman and Dr Javed Akram discussed for the treatment of patients suffering from heart diseases. Prof Dr Javed Akram also donated a life savers kit to Provincial Health Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique for Emergency Services Department of Punjab. Khawaja Salman Rafique while welcoming the arrival of Prof Dr. Javed Akram said that the main purpose of today's meeting was brainstorming for better facilities for patients suffering from heart diseases.
