Another plea seeking FIR against Rana Sana filed
A PTI lawyer has approached a sessions court, seeking registration of an FIR against former interior minister Rana Sanaullah for allegedly “threatening to kill” former prime minister Imran Khan.
Khalid Mahmood Ali filed a criminal petition naming the Malir SSP and the SHO of the Malir City police station as respondents and the PML-N leader as the proposed accused. As the petition came up for hearing before the district and sessions judge (Malir), he sought a report from the respondents and set April 20 as the next date for hearing, according to the petitioner.
Khalid stated that on April 3, he came across a video of Rana Sanaullah on YouTube, wherein he threatened to kill the former prime minister. He mentioned that Khan had previously been attacked in Wazirabad, and alleged that Sanaullah was involved in that incident.
He said he sent applications to the SSP and SHO after watching the video, requesting them to take action against the proposed accused but no action was taken. The petitioner pleaded with the judge to direct the respondents to record his statement and lodge an FIR against the PML-N leader. A sessions court recently dismissed a similar petition filed by Insaf Lawyers Forum (ILF) Karachi president Zahoor Mahsud over lack of jurisdiction.
