PFF NC seeking venue for Challenge Cup knockouts
LAHORE: Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) Normalisation Committee has started a fresh search for securing a venue for the knockout stage of the National Football Challenge Cup after Sports Board Punjab (SBP) refused to provide Punjab Stadium for the purpose.
According to sources, SBP cannot provide NC the Punjab Stadium as it will host Pink Games from May 2-6. NC has already announced that it will hold the knockout stage of the event at Lahore from May 1-12.
NC had conducted the league stage of the event last year and is going to complete it almost after a year. Meanwhile, sources said that some participating teams have approached NC to delay the event for a few days so that they could prepare well.
“Due to Eid, camps have been held late and we have requested the NC to delay the event for ten days so that we could prepare well,” a senior official of a participating team told this correspondent.
