After receiving information that one of the suspects was sighted in SITE Area on Tuesday, the police reached the spot, but the suspect opened fire on them.

After a shoot-out, the suspect named Usman was arrested in an injured condition. A number of pistols and live rounds were also seized from him.

Police said that during the interrogation the suspect admitted to shooting Major Sheikh, explaining that he and his accomplice Altaf were robbing the victim when he resisted the attempt, so he shot him and fled, leaving his motorbike behind.
