ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has appointed Federal Minister for Industries and Production Rana Tanveer Hussain as a member of the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) of the Cabinet increasing strength of the Committee from six to seven.
The prime minister, firstly constituted ECC appointing himself as its Chairman on March 21. However, three days later, the prime minister withdraw his decision and made Finance Minister as ECC Chairman.
Ministers for Economic Affairs, Commerce, Planning and Special Initiatives, Power and Petroleum are other ECC members. The ECC also includes Deputy Chairman Planning Commission, Governor State Bank and concerned federal secretaries and Chairman Board of Investment as co-opted members.
