Acting on special instructions from Sindh’s chief minister and home minister, the Counter Terrorism Department took action against an inter-provincial gang on Monday and arrested its three members for selling and supplying ice and other drugs at educational institutions and other places in Karachi.
Officials said a special team of the CTD’s operation unit arrested the three main operatives of gang, including a woman, in an operation and seized high quality ice and hashish from their possession. The arrests were made on the basis of information and technical support.
The suspects were identified as Shahid Ahmed, Mohammad Muzammil and Shamim Bibi, and three kilograms of marijuana, half a kilogram of ice and a motorcycle were seized from them. Shahid Ahmed, a serving employee in the Forest Department of the Punjab province, allegedly supplied ice and drugs to colleges and other places along with his co-accused Manzil Ahmed on his official motorcycle, which helped him go wherever he wanted.
Moreover, Shamim Bibi, who was responsible for supplying drugs to these places, acted on instructions from Shahid and Muzammil. The leader of this group, Razzaq, is based in Quetta, who transports drugs to the suspects through the Hub post.
