Dacoits hit two houses

Islamabad: Gangs of dacoits, hitting two houses at Golra Sharif and Banni Gala, looted away cash in local and foreign currency, diamond sets, gold ornaments, watches, and other valuables to the tune of Rs35 million, police sources said.

Amjad Khan, an Afghan national, complained to the Golra police station saying that a group of gunmen stormed his house at Golra held his family at gunpoint, and later locked them in a room. He said that the gangsters swept away with cash, gold ornaments, and other valuables to the tune of Rs5 million. The Golra police have registered an FIR under sections 395 PPC and started an investigation.

In another incident that occurred in Bani Gala, the gunmen took away cash in Pak rupees and US Dollars, Diamond sets, gold ornaments, watches, and other valuables worth over 30 million rupees. The Bani Gala police have registered an FIR under section 392 PPC on the complaint of Abdullah Hassan and initiated the investigation.

Search operation conducted

Islamabad: Islamabad Ca­pi­tal Police (ICP) Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) on Sunday jointly conducted a search and combing operation within Secretariat police station jurisdiction.

A public relations officer said that, following the special directives of SSP (CTD) the search and combing operations are being conducted in different areas of the city, to ensure the safety and security of the Islamabad citizens.

Following these orders, a search and combing operation was conducted in different areas of the Secretariat police station by CTD and local police teams. During the search and combing operation 61 suspicious persons, 49 houses, 39 motorcycles and 22 motor vehicles were thoroughly checked.
