‘Health screening of over two lakh cops completed’

LAHORE: Inspector General Police (IGP) Punjab has said that only a healthy force can better protect the nation and fight against criminals and anti-national elements with full force.

In a special message on the occasion of World Health Day, he said that for the first time in the history of the country, health screening of more than two lakh policemen was completed besides vaccination of hepatitis B of police personnel, treatment of personnel suffering from hepatitis C.

He said that psychological profiling of police personnel and concrete measures to restore mental health of affected personnel were implemented. He said that wheelchairs were provided to the police personnel suffering from permanent physical disabilities. MoUs were signed with well-known hospitals to provide free and discounted treatment facilities to police employees and their families.

CCPO reviews operations against drug trafficking

CCPO Lahore chaired a meeting at his office to review the ongoing operations against drug trafficking and criminals involved in heinous crimes.

The CCPO ordered expedited actions against wanted criminals involved in murder cases and different acts of violence. He asked the investigative officers to benefit from the forensic science lab facility and professional expertise to pursue cases on merit. He directed an accelerated crackdown on drug dealers.

15 DSPs transferred, posted

Punjab IG issued transfer and posting orders of 15 DSPs here on Sunday. Following are the police officers who have been transferred and posted. Arshad Mahmood has been posted as DSP Murree, Muhammad Usman as DSP Investigation Muslim Town, Hashim Mehmood as DSP Wazirabad, Rehan Jamal as DSP Investigation Sabzazar, Ashfaq Rana as DSP Investigation Shafiqabad and Zakaria Yusuf as DSP Operations Gulshan Ravi.
