Strict action over bus fare overcharging ordered

LAHORE:Commissioner Lahore Muhammad Ali Randhawa called a special meeting of price control authorities regarding passenger buses, fares.

Commissioner Lahore directed the price magistrates to remain present in the shopping centres. Agriculture Fair Price Shops will also remain open and will ensure abundant and best quality vegetables, he said, adding all ACs will visit the bus, wagon stands and get displayed the official fares at a prominent place in the bus. DCs, ACs and RT Secretary will conduct strict checking of passenger bus and wagon stands. Strict crackdown will be continued on overcharging the passengers. Commissioner visited the Badami Bagh lorry adda. He said that due to the massive travelling on the occasion of Eid, they would not allow any bus management to charge more fares from passengers. He expressed his anger at the presence of men in the passenger hall reserved for women and ordered posting a guard outside the female passenger hall. He checked the tickets of the passengers and banned the passenger bus for 72 hours after it found issuing the roof ticket of the vehicle going to Lucky Marwat.
