ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Thursday announced a series of public meetings after Eidul Fitr, starting from Balochistan for the supremacy of Constitution, law and democracy.

Talking to media persons in Rawalpindi, after having a meeting with Imran Khan in Adiala jail, senior PTI leader Asad Qaiser said the first rally would be held in Pishin district of Balochistan as part of the protest movement.

He also pointed out that a meeting of the like-minded parties to review arrangements for the rally would be held at Balochistan National Party Chairman Akhtar Mengal’s house on April 12 in Quetta. The party’s senior leader maintained that schedule for the country-wide movement would be announced shortly.

The main purpose of this movement, he explained, is the supremacy of the Constitution and law, without which the country cannot move forward.

Referring to the suspicious letters received by various superior courts judges, he wondered if there a law in the country. “They have made the country a banana republic, serious complaints are being received from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. It is a conspiracy against the country that this province is being deprived of representation,” he said adding that Imran Khan has given the message to continue struggle for his ideology.

Talking to the media, PTI Secretary General Omar Ayub said that they had formed a big alliance and it has a one-point agenda i.e. the Constitution and rule of law should prevail in Pakistan.

He said, “We stand with the judiciary and hope that the Supreme Judicial Council and Supreme Court will form a full court bench on the issue of letters and conduct hearing on this matter.” He said that former prime minister Imran Khan has announced a focal person committee, which includes him (Omar), Shibli Faraz, Ali Zafar, Naeem Panjotha and party chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan.

Omar Ayub said that no one should think that Bushra Bibi is Imran Khan’s weakness; she is his strength. Poison was mixed in her food and she had suffered a lot. He demanded her medical examination in the presence of Shaukat Khanum Cancer Hospital doctors.

Later, another senior party member Shibli Faraz said that Pakistan gave mandate to PTI and it was stolen. “Now we have to fight to protect this mandate, we will do it in the courts, as we have to differentiate between Form 45 and Form 47. It is a country of 22 crore and it cannot tolerate any chaos,” he contended. He regretted the fact that the influx of foreign investment in the country was stopped and braindrain was taking place.

Referring to the Senate elections’ delay in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the PTI leader wondered whether the province was being victimised for giving a heavy mandate to a party. He said his party wanted supremacy of the Constitution and law in Pakistan, adding they would not let Pakistan become a banana republic. He believed that the role of chief justice of Pakistan was crucial amid the current situation.

Meanwhile, in yet another review of his team of focal persons, Imran has pushed out Sher Afzal Marwat and Umair Niazi. According to Barrister Gohar, Imran has appointed him (Gohar), Shibli Faraz, Omar Ayub, Intezar Panjotha, and Barrister Ali Zafar as his focal persons.

The new list of focal persons issued by Gohar does not include the names of Marwat and Umair. The PTI chairman said on his X social media account that the new focal persons were appointed in consultation with Imran. Previously, the PTI founder had only recently appointed Marwat and Umair as his focal persons through a list issued with his signature by the Adiala Jail administration.
