Family skeptical after 8th grade student’s death

MANSEHRA: Parents on Wednesday rushed to the King Abdullah Teaching Hospital after the body of an 8th-grade student was shifted to the mortuary for autopsy.

“It would be premature to say anything about what exactly led to the death of the student as the medico-legal formalities are being finalised,” a doctor at King Abdullah Hospital told reporters. Ali Shahzad, a student of Tameer-e-Watan Public School and College, was shifted to King Abdullah Teaching Hospital in a critical condition where he breathed his last.

Sajid Mehmood, who is stated to be the uncle of the deceased student, lodged a first information report (FIR) with the police, stating he suspected the school administration’s role and alleged that his nephew died because of them.

The School administration in its condolence message posted on the website refuted the allegations stating that the student showed symptoms of distress during the break time, fainted, fell on the washroom ground and was rushed to King Abdullah Teaching Hospital where he couldn’t survive.

Mohammad Amjad the In-charge Reporting Room at the health facility said the police after lodging the FIR started an investigation under Section 174 of Pakistan Penal Code to ascertain what exactly led to the death of the student.

A large number of parents rushed to the King Abdullah Teaching Hospital following the student was shifted to the facility to ascertain the identity of the student shifted to the facility in critical condition.The police handed over the body to the family after doctors completed the medico-legal formalities at the health facility.
